Well, that’s exactly what happened in late April when Federer announced the signing of a lucrative deal with iconic luxury eyewear brand Oliver Peoples. The deal will involve Federer collaborating with the $63 million dollar brand to launch his signature line of sunglasses. While Federer revealed that the sunglasses would be launched in 2024, he didn’t mention any specific time or season. However, through a recent tweet, Federer finally came out with the season during which his diehard fans can expect the launch.
Federer, an eyewear enthusiast, will provide deep insights regarding his eyewear preferences to the expert designers at Oliver Peoples. The Swiss maestro made the announcement in an interview with GQ.

Unsurprisingly, the questions came pouring in, and one of them was from a fan who seemingly can’t wait for his sunglasses to come out. The fan asked Federer, “When are your sunglasses launching?” The fan also expressed anticipation for Federer’s signature Oliver Peoples sunglasses using a combination of text and emoji.
Federer took his time to reply to the fan. When he did, though, he was as crisp and concise as he could be with his answer. Federer replied, “next spring!” As the spring of 2024 approaches, the world will undoubtedly get more updates on the exact launch date.

In Federer’s April announcement, the maestro shared why he decided to sign on the dotted line for Oliver Peoples. He also gave fans some idea of what to expect from the sunglasses. According to Federer, the sunglasses will reflect his preference for all things “classic” and “sporty”.
Federer also revealed that a scene from ‘Mission: Impossible II’ inspired him to design his very own sunglasses. The sunglasses will also bring back Federer’s instantly recognizable ‘RF’ logo.
