The Canadian tennis player was serving at 3-4 while it was deuce. Then, the line judge called out during the second serve, which prompted Shapovalov to cross the net to show the chair umpire about that line. However, the chair umpire didn’t listen to him and gave him a point penalty. As a result, he lost that game and eventually lost the second set to Sonego.

However, he could not accept the decision made by the chair umpire. He said to the umpire, “I was just showing you the mark.”

In reply, the umpire said, “That’s just the rule.”

“No, it’s not, it’s stupid,” Denis further said.

The drama didn’t stop there, as he complained to the chair umpire about a member of the crowd. In reply, the umpire said, “I’m not gonna kick him out because I didn’t see what he was doing. I saw you talking to him and you incited it a little bit. I understand you’re frustrated.”

As the Canadian tennis player was talking to the supervisor, the crowd booed him heavily. Then, he shouted at the crowd by saying, “shut the f*** up.”

Despite his frustration, he composed himself and won the third set by 6-3 to win the match.
