Roger Federer has always been the epitome of elegance—both on and off the tennis courts. While his silky one-handed backhand and 20 Grand Slam titles have earned him a place among the tennis greats, his undeniable sense of style has made him a global icon. And let’s be honest, when it comes to style, nothing says sophistication quite like a luxury watch. Enter Federer’s long-standing partnership with Rolex, a match as timeless as the pieces he proudly flaunts.
The Swiss Maestro shares an old bond with Rolex and it dates back to 2006, when he became the Brand Ambassador for the company. He signed a 10-year, $15 million deal with the brand back then that was further extended in 2016. Since then, he has often been seen donning the products of the brand on his wrist, showcasing his elegance. One such watch in his remarkable collection is the black-and-gray GMT-Master II that Federer was seen wearing recently at the Laver Cup. The Rolex Batman is one of the most well-loved tool watches of the brand and features a GMT movement. There is also a fourth hand on the dial that makes one revolution per 24 hours, indicating a second-time zone. But this is just the beginning of his remarkable collection.
During the US Open this year, Federer was seen wearing an ultra-rare, Rolex Daytona Le Mans watch, reference 126528LN-0001 in yellow gold. The watch was unveiled at Watches & Wonders 2024 and is priced somewhere between $42,000-$45,000. A similar moment came during Wimbledon 2022 when the Swiss Maestro stepped onto the courts wearing the off-catalog Rolex Daytona “Orange” Ref. 116588SACO. The watch consists of an 18K yellow-gold case and an orange sapphire-crystal bezel and is valued at around $325,000 in the secondary market. These numbers clearly reflect the classy likings of the tennis great, and at the same time shout about his love for timepieces. He was also spotted in a 41 mm Rolex Oyster Perpetual that had a striking yellow dial in 2021. Federer’s love for watches does not end here.

Roger Federer, who has amassed over $1 Billion, per several media reports during his playing days, has many more iconic Rolex watches in his collection. Some of these pieces include Daytona “Platona” 116506, GMT-Master II “Batman” 116710BLNR, Vintage Rolex Daytona Ref 6263 “BIG RED”, and Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Ref. 116500LN. Hence, it is completely safe to say that Federer’s passion for watches is as unique as his love for tennis. And this passion is well evidenced on several occasions as Federer highlighted his love for the fashion and style world.

“I really enjoy” – When Roger Federer shared his thoughts on stylish brands
Roger Federer has often mesmerized his fans with his elegance both on and off the court. In 2019, he was voted the most stylish man of the decade, proving that his aura does not just shine on the tennis courts. And now, even when he retired from the tennis world, his love for fashion and style has remained quite similar.
Speaking about the same in an interaction with British GQ last year, Federer said, “I’ve gotten a bit more casual for sure. As you get older, you want to be younger again.” Federer’s love for fashion began early in his career, and now, the admiration and endorsement deals he receives truly make him elated. “I really enjoy it,” he said adding, “It’s like deep diving into a completely different world. It’s like the art world or the jewelry world or car world. The fashion world is the one I know a lot. And I’ve gotten to know so many of the beautiful and best designers, so I’ve been very fortunate.”
