Can Andy Murray juggle four kids and a tennis career like Federer? What’s your take?

Emotions were at an all time high for Roger Federer when he addressed the tennis community last time as a professional. However, the only light that made him smile was the freedom to have a joyous post-retirement life with his kids. “I also want to thank my four wonderful children for supporting me, always eager to explore new places, and creating wonderful memories along the way,” was all he could say back in 2022. As it is now time for Andy Murray to bid farewell, it seems like he plans to go out with similar motivation.

It has been a long time since Murray dropped hints of finally bidding farewell to the tennis world. While there was no clear idea of an exact date of the event, the Briton recently confirmed, marking his Paris Olympic campaign to be the last one. While fans were still not over the emotional update, he came forward with another one, this time with newfound hope.

In a recent interview with BBC Sport, Murray was exposed to a harsh reality. On being asked about how he would manage a lighter schedule, finally being a former player, all Murray could think of was his family. “Well I’ve got 4 young kids – that’s pretty relentless as well,” he said, seeking a ray of hope in his children to keep him occupied.

Furthermore, he also acknowledged the fact that the process of adjusting to a different life would be gradual. “It’s obviously gonna be different and it will take some time for me to adjust, I’m fully aware of that,” he added.

Murray, along with his wife Kim, has traveled a long road of love and commitment. The couple has three daughters (Sophia, Eddie, and one whose name is not confirmed) along with a boy named Teddy. Besides navigating through intense competition in the sport, the Briton has always considered the role of being a good father as something “more important than winning.”

Just like Federer, Andy Murray is also associated with the ownership of a sports apparel brand named AMC. The Briton has marked several moments of opening up about the efforts he has been making to bring the brand name up. “It’s something I work on closely with my management team,” he said in an interview.

Although AMC is currently in a growing phase, there’s a high chance that it could boost sales and revenue after Murray finally ends his professional tennis career. Will we see him reach similar heights as the 20-time grand slam champion?
