Four months into 2024, a handful of tennis tournaments have left much to be desired. The Laver Cup 2023 brought thrilling action, with Team Europe competing against Team World in both singles and doubles categories. While Taylor Fritz and his team secured a massive win in the last edition of the event, he is all set to be a part of it once again.

With the Laver Cup set to make its way to Uber Arena in Berlin from September 20-22, John McEnroe’s Team World has already started to assemble its impressive roster. Led by American stars Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul, the team has announced Australian standout Alex de Minaur alongside them. The trio has played a significant role in Team World’s past victories and is now gearing up once again to defend their title against Team Europe’s lineup.

“Bjorn has had a really strong start to his lineup this year, so it’s great to have Alex, Taylor and Tommy back on the team again,” expressed McEnroe, highlighting the importance of experience and camaraderie in the competition.

Alex De Minaur or ‘Demon’, has been keeping up with his consistent performance in 2024. Breaking into the top 10 for the first time, he showcased his potential with consecutive wins against top-ranked players at the United Cup in January, along with securing his eighth ATP Tour title in Acapulco.

As Team World has already begun gathering its gems to defend the title for the third consecutive year, the players are proud to be a part of it.

Besides the excitement of John McEnroe and his team having such a strong line-up, Alex De Minaur also came forward to share his thoughts about being a part of the winning team. “Being part of the Laver Cup in London was incredible and I’m honored to be back on Captain McEnroe’s team once again,” said De Minaur, who is set to be a crucial part of Team World this time.

Besides him, Taylor Fritz also opened up about how he sees the event. “Laver Cup is one of my favorite events,” he said. Fritz also explained how the tournament energizes him, saying, “Team World brings such a great energy and positive vibe that we’ve managed to pull off some incredible wins over the years and we’ll be aiming to do it again in Berlin.” As the defending champions are set to gather up once again to unleash the action, there’s still a lot waiting for the fans.
