The 2024 Laver Cup ended with a bang. Team Europe put on a dominant display to take the title on the final day of the tournament. The star performer for the team, Carlos Alcaraz won 3 of the 4 matches that he played in the tournament to help his team clinch the trophy. While the 2024 edition of the tournament had no shortage of drama, the next edition in San Francisco is set for double the fun after a big update was released today.
Two of the biggest stars of the 2024 edition, Alcaraz and Taylor Fritz are set to return to the tournament in San Francisco next season. It reaffirms the tournament’s status among the big events set to take place next season. Both Alcaraz and Fritz expressed joy at returning to the event in 2025.
Alcaraz said, “To have all the players I’m used to fighting against together, on the bench supporting me, sharing the same goal – to lift the trophy – is unique. I found it really motivating. I loved the Laver Cup energy, the environment, the atmosphere, and I can’t wait to be part of it again in San Francisco.”

Fritz is raring to go as well in the next edition of the tournament and inflict revenge on Team Europe. He revealed, “I am pumped to represent Team World once again. The atmosphere, camaraderie, team chemistry, and excitement of the Laver Cup is unlike any other tournament. I’m sure the energy will be amazing and hopefully, the home fans will come out in force to support us in San Francisco. We really want the Laver Cup back!”

While Fritz has been a regular presence at the Laver Cup, the 2024 edition was Alcaraz’s first appearance in this tournament. However, his performances spoke volumes. The Spaniard thoroughly enjoyed the time spent with his teammates at the Laver Cup and now he can’t wait to return to action in San Francisco next year.
Similarly, the captains of the two teams are also looking forward to having their star players back for next year’s edition. Both Andre Agassi and Yannick Noah had interesting reactions to Alcaraz and Fritz’s decision of playing in the next year’s edition of the Laver Cup in the United States.

The next edition of the Laver Cup will have new captains in the form of Andre Agassi and Yannick Noah. While the former will replace John McEnroe as the Team World captain, Noah comes in place of Bjorn Borg as captain of Team Europe. Even before the start of the next edition, the squads of the two teams are bolstered by the confirmations of Alcaraz and Fritz’s presence. As a result, Agassi and Noah were over the moon with this massive update.

Talking about it, Agassi said, “Taylor has been a force for Team World, and his commitment to the Laver Cup is undeniable. He’s had an incredible season and I’m excited to know he’s ready to lead the charge for us at home in San Francisco next September.”
