Meeting the Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer in person is a lifelong dream of many, and getting to train with him is on another level. But that did come true for Aussie bad boy Nick Kyrgios when he was invited by the legend himself for training. Nick Kyrgios is as of now working as a commentator for the Australian Open and part of his time is devoted to sharing cool stories about his favorite players.

Recently when he was in the box, he shared how he was incited by Federer to train and opposed to his expectations, he was put in a less expensive hotel. But his training with Federer was nevertheless a memorable time.

During his commentary panel, Nick Kyrgios talked about how he learned a lot from Federer in the initial stages of his career especially when he was training with him. He shared, “I did a training week with Federer early in my career and I was always wonderinghow does this guy train? How does he keep getting better?

Further, Kyrgios also talked about how he thought he would be put up in a very luxurious hotel but his expectations came crashing down. Kyrgios added “He invited me for a training week and I thought I would be staying in a five, six-star hotel. He put me in a three-star hotel for two weeks. Cheers Rog.”

Kyrgios also shared how the two of them were out on the court practicing every day for 3 hours during the week. Besides talking about his time with Federer, Nick Kyrgios also talked about his comeback plans to give hope to his fans for the coming tournaments.

Australian tennis star opens up about his comeback to the sport

Nick Kyrgios has been out of the game for a while, recovering. But as he reassured fans, the Aussie will definitely be coming back. In the same clip, he adds that fans should not be stressed because there is plenty of fuel left in the tank for him. The Aussie bad boy also added that the year has been very tough for him with injuries but he is as hungry as ever and is under constant rehab.

Kyrgios added, “Part of the reason why I’m commentating and doing all these things around AO [the Australian Open] is to still feel that fire and still be a part of it.” He shared that for now he has no plans of retiring and will play a lot as soon as he recovers.
