While the tennis star gained subsequent positions in three junior levels of Grand Slam tours, he was crowned champion at the fourth one, the US Open.

Joao Fonseca’s recent victory in Rio wasn’t just a regular match win. As the tennis star defeated his inaugural match opponent, he became the first ATP player born in 2006 to gain a victory in Rio.

After the Brazilian hit this massive feat, he couldn’t stop himself from expressing his joy. “I am so happy. It couldn’t be better than this to get my first win 10 minutes away from my house and with all my friends, all my family watching,” the 17-year-old said.
