Did Patrick Mouratoglou just outwit Tsitsipas with his bizarre reply? Who's the real joker here?

The tennis world is never short on surprises, and this season has been no different. As the US Open dust settles, both players and fans are already shifting their focus to upcoming tournaments and thinking about what adjustments need to be made for next season. Among the players eyeing crucial changes is Stefanos Tsitsipas, who found himself falling short of major victories this year. However, while Tsitsipas may be looking to tweak his game on the court, it’s something off the court that has fans buzzing. A series of bizarre posts and even stranger replies have sparked wild speculation among tennis enthusiasts.

Taking to his X on Thursday, September 12, Tsitsipas made a bizarre post that left the tennis community scratching their heads. “If you’re the type of person who finishes shampoo and conditioner at the same time, you’re clearly doing something right in life,” he wrote. The post clearly did not make any sense for many and joining the fray of confused individuals was none other than Roger Federer’s ex-coach Ivan Ljubicic.

Responding to Tsitsipas, the former Croatian player questioned, “What?” signifying his confusion over the post. While this could have been a general inquiry, it quickly captured the attention of tennis fans, who are now speculating on a partnership between the Ljubicic and the Greek tennis sensation.

Have an interesting take?

Taking to X, one user wrote, “i see the vibes you’re putting out there and agree you should coach stef 100%. what a brilliant idea.” Ljubicic coached the tennis icon Roger Federer between 2016 and 2022, until the retirement of the tennis icon. He also witnessed Federer winning 3 of his 20 Grand Slams during the period and several other ATP titles. If the Greek star manages to persuade him to a partnership, it might help him come out of the challenging times he has been facing.

While Tsitsipas reached the crucial stages of many tournaments this year, he failed to win any except the Monte Carlo Masters. This has led to widespread criticism from his fans who have been advising him to make changes to his skills and his team. Now, if the latest speculation about his partnership with Ljubicic turns out to be true, it would really be fascinating for many fans. Another user reflected similar sentiments.

Responding to the post, one user wrote, “Why don’t you start working together ? It would be awesome for tennis fans!” Remember, the Greek tennis star jettisoned his father Apostolos Tsitsipas after the Canadian Open this year. He cited that his father fails to understand his needs on the courts as a player, which has continued to impact his performance. Since then, tennis fans have been anticipating a strong addition to Tsitsipas’ team and Ljubicic can certainly be the person that Tsitsipas might be looking out for. Similar reactions were witnessed by others as well.

“He is just subtly telling you to be his coach,” another user wrote. While Tsitsipas partnered with Dimitris Hadjinikolaou as a temporary solution following his fallout with his father, he failed to achieve much success yet again. While he was ousted in the second round of the Cincinnati Masters, he witnessed a major setback in the first round itself of the US Open. Hence, he must be looking for someone who could end his tragic phase and Ljubicic appears to be the best fit, per fans.

Yet another user responded to the post and asked Ljubicic to help overcome Tsitsipas his challenges. “ivan ignore this tweet if you’re gonna coach stef and fix his BH,” the user wrote. Tsitsipas has often faced criticism for his backhand game with fans claiming it to be the worst skill of the 26-year-old. Many in fact claimed it to be the primary reason behind his subpar performance. With Ljubicic having coached a grand icon of the sports, Federer, fans believe that he could help Tsitsipas overcome this trait.

One more user simply asked, “Is this happening??? 🥹,” signifying their happiness and excitement over the possibilities. While only time will tell if Stefanos Tsitsipas and Ivan Ljubicic will get together and form a team, it would be interesting to see if Tsitsipas responds to the Croatian coach with some response.
