Holer Rune is one of those young-generation tennis players who has given tough competition to the 36-year-old Serbian tennis player. Although, in his recent face against the 24-time Grand Slam champion, he might have faced defeat, he is definitely one of the most talented players who has ever defeated Djokovic on the court.

According to a tennis report posted on Twitter, the 20-year-old tennis player is only the third player to ever defeat the world-ranked tennis player in the first five clashes. Before him, Roger Federer and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga were the only two players who have achieved a similar feat.

It won’t be wrong to say that the Dane, who is quite fond of the 42-year-old tennis legend’s movements on the court, has emulated a similar record, too, against the same rival. Even so, the eighth-ranked tennis player managed to maintain his position as Djokovic’s main opponent despite a close loss.

Last year, after defeating the Serbian tennis player in the finals of the Paris Masters, he created a record as the first player in history to have defeated five players ranked in the top 10. Before Djokovic, he faced Hubert Hurkacz, Andrey Rublev, Carlos Alcaraz Garfia, and Felix Auger-Aliassime in the subsequent rounds of the tournament.

However, this record was something that was not achieved by any other tennis player; even Federer was able to defeat four top-five players during his Australian Open run in 2017. Nevertheless, Rune will try his 100 percent to make it to the championship round of the ATP Finals after facing a loss in the first round.
