Roger Federer is gearing up for his comeback after being off the court for more than a year. Along with that, the player has not shut himself off from the world. Recently, he went on to watch the soccer match between FC Basel and CSKA Sofia in the Europa Conference League.

Federer has always been an ardent soccer fan and therefore went on to support his home team in their crucial European cup encounter.

The Swiss Maestro has always had an undying love for soccer. Much like his archrival, Rafael Nadal, supporting his home team has always been his priority. Federer enjoyed the match thoroughly, and something deeply engrossed him while watching the match.

Apart from that, the Irish soccer player, Liam Miller of the Swiss Club, shared his joy after meeting the tennis legend. He stated, “Danke! an honour to meet you again,” in one of his Instagram stories.

FC Basel 1893 ended up winning the match 2-0 against the Bulgarian club CSKA Sofia. Besides that, the Swiss Maestro added some gloss to the victory with his presence.

It is not Federer’s first time supporting the club. He was present last year during another one of the club’s victories.

How is Federer’s comeback affecting the audience?

It has been more than a year since the 20-time Grand Slam champion was last seen playing on the court. He will make his comeback at this year’s Laver Cup representing Team Europe.

No doubt, the player’s comeback has reignited the excitement in the hearts of his fans once again. In his year-long hiatus, his arch-rivals, Nadal and Djokovic, have moved ahead of him in the count of Grand Slam titles.
