Federer, who is ready to end his 24 year long career, having won 20 grand slams titles throughout his journey. And he claimed his 20 grand slam in the year 2018. He was the first player to achieve the 20th grand slam in an ATP tour.

The former world number one has never missed an opportunity to thank his wife, even in his retirement announcement. He especially thanked his wife for standing by her side throughout his journey.

Recently, in an interview when asked about how his wife feels about his retirement and will she be the center of attention. He said, “I’m sure she will be. The last few years were hard for me, but I think they were even harder for her. She really didn’t enjoy watching me anymore, with all the injuries. I felt kind of sorry for her.”

Federer and Mirka met in 2000, and after dating for nine years, they both tied the knot in 2009. The former world number one has four kids named Myla Rose, Charlene Riva, Lenny, and Leo. The Swiss Maestro’s kids and wife were always seen attending the tennis players’ matches on numerous occasions.

Mirka Federer and her career in professional tennis

Roger Federer’s wife Mirka, known as Miroslava Vavrinec, is a former professional tennis player. She has represented Switzerland in the Olympics in 2000. In 2002, the two even played together in the Hopman Cup. However, the tennis star’s wife was not able to continue her tennis career after she suffered numerous injuries and decided to retire in 2002.
