From stunning the crowd with his unmatched skills on the court to even gracing the audience with his presence in the stands, the Swiss legend has always been adored. The same thing happened at the Shanghai Masters as well. The Swiss’ entry stole the show in a match where Jannik Sinner played against Tomas Machac. So much so that even Jannik Sinner couldn’t stop himself from talking about the 20-time Grand Slam winner’s aura.

Jannik Sinner reflected on the special experience of having Roger Federer in the stands during his semi-final match against Tomas Machac in Shanghai. Sinner acknowledged the significance of Federer’s presence, expressing how it influenced the atmosphere in the stadium. “Yeah, it’s nice. I mean, I always try to stay focused about the game, but, you know, sometimes when this happens, it’s also nice,” Sinner shared, showing his appreciation for the added energy Federer brings to the crowd.

With a hilarious tone, Machac responded to the fan by asking, “What about me?” which made the crowd laugh even more.

Sinner also praised Federer for his contributions to the sport. He mentioned how it’s always a “very nice moment” to see Federer or speak with him, highlighting the lasting impact Federer has had on tennis fans and players alike. Federer, on the other hand, also got a chance to meet his longtime rival Novak Djokovic in a friendly backstage encounter that refreshed his memories.
