The whole tennis world is concerned about Novak Djokovic‘s well-being. The Serb, who is keeping himself away from the scene, was recently robbed of his World No.1, with the young Italian Jannik Sinner taking the lead. While his current situation and the plans to participate in Wimbledon are surrounded by countless questions, Roger Federer came forward to share his thoughts surrounding Big 4.
It has been nearly two years since the Swiss tennis maestro ended his professional career. After he left, the game was supposed to be in the hands of Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Andy Murray, the three of the “Big Four”. Seeing all of them suffering in their own ways, Federer expressed disappointment in a recent statement.
It’s crazy! A few months ago we would have talked about things completely differently. Now all three of the remaining “Big Four” are suddenly fighting. Andy Murray has been fighting for a long time, Rafa too, and now Novak too. This is a special time in tennis,” the Swiss tennis maestro said, looking back to a recent time when the Serb was in the most dominant form.

It has been nearly two weeks since Novak Djokovic found himself on the scene. The crowd surely enjoyed his back-to-back five-set long showdown but little did they know that it was hurting him in a crucial area (the knee). Although a meniscus tear generally takes 3 to 4 weeks in order to be healed completely, there’s still no update from the Serb or even his team about what’s on his mind and how is he coping. Amid the scarcity of updates, a recent rumor made its way on social media, giving fans a new ray of hope.
Rumor brightens the chances of Novak Djokovic’s entry in Wimbledon
This year’s Wimbledon stands to be a crucial event for Novak Djokovic. Besides the fact that he could end the title drought for this season, it was also a golden opportunity for him to make his Wimbledon win score even to that of the Swiss tennis maestro. As the anticipation levels are enough for this one, imagine what a rumor can do to the restless minds of the fans.

“Reliable sources telling me Novak hit today for the first time since the knee procedure and is pushing hard to play Wimbledon. Let’s see,” the bigwig Craig Shapiro wrote in a recent post on X. On top of that Djokovic himself didn’t rule out playing at Wimbledon – which gets underway on July 1 – as he stated following surgery: “I’m going to do my best to be healthy and fit to return to the court as soon as possible. My love for this sport is strong and the desire to compete at the highest level is what keeps me going.”
Roger Federer won his last Wimbledon title back in 2017. While it was not just a win but the establishment of a tough record in the tennis world, the world still bows down to him. Federer’s retirement may have marked an end to his career but also left his record vulnerable, which Novak Djokovic could equal if he managed to take it down. As time passes and the date approaches, a response from Roger Federer is highly anticipated.
