Along with Federer, top players like Denis Shapovalov, Cristian Garin, Casper Ruud, Fabio Fognini, etc have also announced their participation in the Geneva Open. The Swiss Maestro arrived at the event and also started practicing against Marton Fucsovics. Federer will be the favorite entering the tournament but his fitness on-court is still an issue of concern. As he will be facing a strong bunch of clay-courters, his consistency will be tested.
When Federer made his comeback at the Qatar Open earlier this year, he wasn’t able to play consistent tennis, especially when he was forced to play three sets. Even though Qatar was a test-event for the Swiss, he will be excited to play for the title on his home soil.
To his misfortune, Geneva Open will take place without fans this year and it will be a blow to Federer’s chances of winning his 104th ATP tour title.
