In the latest episode of the Control the Controllables podcast, the 1987 Wimbledon champion, talked about the current tennis scenario. Along with that, he also talked about the 20-time Grand Slam champion. In that, he listed his greatest strength that made him different from the other tennis players. Pat Cash simply highlighted that the Swiss Maestro is just great when it comes to continually adapting his tactics. Moreover, he gave a different angle to the GOAT debate going on.

He said, “When you’ve seen players like Roger Federer bring in the drop shot after he has won [around] 12 Grand Slams, you think, ‘Oh, this guy is wanting to improve’. He’s the most brilliant player that we may have probably ever seen shot-wise, and he was still learning his tactics.”
Additionally, he also talked about how Andy Murray, Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic are all quite amazing when it comes to drop shots. He further acknowledged that all of them are quite great at volleys and perform great slices on the tennis court.

When Cash cited Federer’s prowess in terms of his on-court skills
When the 41-year-old tennis star was still competing on the tennis circuit in 2020, the former Australian tennis player at the time stated in an interview with UTI Tennis that Federer wasn’t even the second best player he had ever seen.
