Find something that Roger Federer cannot do and you’ll have a hard time searching for it. While he is a master on the tennis court, his exploits off the court have also caught the eyes of his fans. Last year, the Swiss maestro tested his new skills as a ‘shaker’ during Coldplay’s Zurich concert. As the event turned almost a year old, Federer had an interesting interaction with the rock band.

A few days ago, Coldplay released its new song, ‘Feelslikeimfallinginlove.’ The song became an instant hit and even caught the attention of Federer. While reminiscing about his previous meeting with the band, Federer took to Instagram and said, “Hey @coldplay – sorry I didn’t make it to the studio to play shaker on our new single, but it still sounds pretty great.”

Coldplay’s new single is their first offering from the upcoming album, Moon Music, which is set to be released on Oct. 4. The song is a perfect tribute to expressing one’s heart out despite the inherent risk of breaking. As a result, the new single touches fans’ hearts and hits right at the bottom of it.

However, Federer couldn’t control his excitement and dropped a hilarious reaction on social media. The new single got the Swiss maestro’s seal of approval, as he was left in awe of it. Federer had a night to remember in his home country, as he went on to the stage during the Coldplay concert and turned a ‘shaker.’ His wife, Mirka, was also present and the two enjoyed the gala event. The Swiss maestro even got a surprise introduction from Chris Martin.

When Roger Federer was introduced as a former member of Coldplay

With the excitement levels already reaching sky-high during Coldplay’s Zurich concert last year, Federer’s presence on the stage only made things more exciting. The Swiss maestro has enjoyed his post-retirement life and that evening was one among the best after he quit tennis. As Federer proceeded to the stage, Chris Martin called him a former member of the band, in hilarious turn of events.

Introducing Federer onto the stage, Martin mentioned, “In 1996 we had five members, with the fifth members playing percussion. He was with us for about three months, and then he said, ‘I will be the greatest tennis player of all time’. But, today he is here to play percussion again. Our original band member Mr. Roger Federer.”

Subsequently, after the concert, Federer shared wonderful glimpses with members of Coldplay on social media. Their bonding became even stronger after that evening and Federer’s latest message on Coldplay’s new song goes to show the mutual respect they have for each other’s work.
