Roger Federer has announced an exciting contest for not only tennis fans but also for creative minds around the world. He will be the guest judge for the UT Grand Prix 2022, an annual worldwide t-shirt design contest. His sponsor company UNIQLO started the competition in 2005 to encourage artistic expression.

This year, the Japanese company will commemorate the 100th birth anniversary of American author and cartoonist Charles M. Schulz. Accordingly, the theme for the contest is his famous comic strip, Peanuts.

Roger Federer to judge UNIQLO’s UT Grand Prix 2022

In UNIQLO’s recent video on Twitter, Federer announced the good news. He also added how Mr. Schulz was a tennis admirer and his excitement to be the judge. Not to forget that the chosen designs will feature in UNIQLO’s stores worldwide.

“I was assigned to serve as a judge for the UT Grand Prix 2022,” Federer said in the video. “This year’s theme is Peanuts, and this competition was realized to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of the author Charles M. Schulz.

“Mr. Schulz was known for his love of tennis, and his works often depicted Snoopy enjoying tennis.” Fascinating enough, Federer was wearing a Snoopy doodled t-shirt in the video.

“In honor of Mr. Schulz, I have decided to participate as a member of the judges, and this is your chance to have your t-shirt designs sold at UNIQLO stores around the world. I look forward to your entries. Have fun doing them, and I’ll see you soon,” the Swiss maestro concluded.

The entry period in the competition is July 13, 2021, to August 31, 2021. For more details on how to participate, check out the UTGP2022 website.

Unquestionably, many contestants will now join the contest, with Federer being the guest judge. Two lucky winners will also earn an internship or tour in the USA.
