Carlos Alcaraz has been in supreme touch with the tennis racquet recently. He won the Cinch championships yesterday by besting Alex De Minaur in the final, 6-4, 6-4. This is the first title on the grass courts for the Spaniard, and he has proved his mettle on all surfaces now. His maiden grass-court triumph also now means that he is one of the contenders to win the Wimbledon trophy along with Novak Djokovic. Ahead of the championships, the Spanish sensation revealed how Federer and Murray helped him in his grass-court preparations.
Many touted Alcaraz as the favorite to win the French Open and he performed at a really high level until the semifinal where he was derailed by the brilliance of Novak Djokovic and his cramps didn’t help him either. But now, after the Cinch championships victory, Alcaraz has said that he is high on confidence and feels that he is one of the favorites to win Wimbledon.

Alcaraz has dropped just one set en route to his victory in the Cinch championships. He certainly proved that he has the ability to achieve great results on all surfaces with this win. This being his first grass-court title, one has to really wonder if it has come at the perfect timing just ahead of Wimbledon.
Alcaraz said, “I have quite a lot of confidence heading into Wimbledon. I ended the week playing at a high level. So right now I feel one of the favorites to win, you know, to win Wimbledon”.
He has said that watching the videos of grass-court specialists like Roger Federer and Andy Murray has really helped his preparations for Wimbledon
“I watch some videos about my opponents first, and then, you know, I have a lot of time to watch videos, to learn from the best players in the world, Andy, Roger, Djokovic,” said Alcaraz.
Alcaraz has been practicing so hard for the tournament, pouring his heart and soul into the practice sessions. The world no.1 is for sure a strong force to reckon in the championships this time around, even though his past records in grass have been dismal as per his standards.

Alcaraz has been training very hard for the Wimbledon Championships. He has made many changes to his game to adapt to the grass court. He has said, ?The most difficult part of playing on grass is being able to move well. You have to be more careful than on the other surfaces; but the most comfortable thing for me is being able to go to the net and play more aggressive all the time.??
But surely watching the videos of grass court specialists like Federer and Murray would have paid him rich dividends and one can see that happening right before our eyes in the Cinch championships.
