Recently, a reliable tennis source tweeted on their official X (formerly Twitter) that- “Amazon has acquired the rights to a documentary on Roger Federer, per @business, focused on the 12 days surrounding his retirement and his biggest rivalries. It’s set to premiere on Prime Video in July around Wimbledon.” This news has taken Federer fans over the moon since they didn’t witness the Swiss star anywhere near the tennis court after his retirement.

Roger Federer’s documentary series will focus on his last days on the professional tennis court since the Swiss legend himself wished to capture his final tennis moments. His reason for choosing the intimate setting of Laver Cup with his manager Tony Godsick hinted at this wish. Now Amazon has finally thought about bringing Federer’s last tennis days to the fans.

Federer approached his friend, Anna Wintour, the Conde Nast’s chief content officer to help and she suggested Joe Sabia’s name. Sabia has created Vogue’s famous 73 Questions edited by Anna Wintour. Sabia filmed the Swiss legend’s final tennis moments at the Laver Cup 2022. Now Amazon acquired the project and finally fulfilling Federer-fans’ wishes.

While he said he didn’t allow people in his house, Federer allowed filmmakers in his house and hotels.

After knowing about so much preparation, fans are delighted to get a glimpse of the documentary. After all, they don’t wish to miss a chance to see Federer’s final days on the tennis court. What do you think?
