The American tennis prodigy has moved up the ladders after an outstanding and deepest run at the recently concluded US Open. On his home soil, the 20-year-old had to contend with some of the players of high caliber, including Frances Tiafoe and Tommy Paul, whom he managed to overcome with his incredible prowess.
Shelton now appears prepared to wow the fans once more at the next tournament, the Laver Cup, in an effort to maintain the momentum. And for the same reason, the young ATP sensation has formulated a unique strategy to perform at his optimum levels at the historic team event.

Ben Shelton looks all geared up for his participation in the Laver Cup
The tennis community can’t keep quiet as the international indoor hard court team tournament is set to begin next week. Adding to their excitement, Ben Shelton is the newest addition to Team World, having attained the world No. 19 position in the ATP rankings.
While speaking about his participation in an interview with the Laver Cup, the 20-year-old revealed how is planning to use his teammates’ energy to his advantage on the court.
He said, “I think my level of tennis gets even better when I have teammates on the side cheering for me.”

Ahead of his encounter against the top stars in Team Europe, Shelton revealed his strategy that might help him win matches. He added, “So hopefully I can feed off that energy and use it to my advantage.”
Prior to his debut at the Laver Cup, the American tennis star also opened up about how the tournament is going to be a great learning experience for him as he will be under the guidance of two ATP legends.

Shelton hails the American tennis legends who will be captaining his team
Ever since the inception of the international tennis team event, it is the Hall of Famer, John McEnroe who has taken the captain arms band for the Team World. The former tennis ace is accompanied by his Patrick McEnroe who is the vice-captain of the team who clinched the Laver Cup in the previous season.

Now, the American tennis icons’ young compatriot, Shelton will be making his debut and will be under their guidance. Emphasizing the same, the US Open semifinalist said that he is excited about his participation as it will be a really “cool experience” for him to learn from the ATP legends.
