Even at Wimbledon this year, a fully-packed Center Court crowd did give the whole tournament an amazing vibe. Taking the momentum further, the US hard-court season, which is set to begin by the end of this month, also promised full-seating for fans entering the respective events.
Rafael Nadal plans to make a grand comeback at the US hard-court season this year
With Nadal debuting at Citi Open in Washington D.C, the tournament organizers announced positive news for fans as permissions were granted to allow full-capacity crowd throughout the week for the event.
The Spaniard, who is planning to make a smashing return to tennis after the semi-final disappointment at Roland Garros, will be playing multiple hard-court tournaments before the US Open.
Talking about the Citi Open allowing full crowds in the stadium, Mark Ein, who took up the management of the event in 2019 expressed his gratitude for everyone involved.
“We’re very excited that we have been given the approval by the National Park Service to go from a 50 percent cap to 100 percent. This has been in the works for a while, in partnership with the city and the park service. Everyone came together and decided this was the right thing to do”.

The Citi Open has an intriguing player-field with Nadal making his debut
Along with the Spaniard, the Citi Open will also feature exciting players like Nick Kyrgios, Denis Shapovalov, Kei Nishikori, Milos Raonic, Hubert Hurkacz, etc.
Due to the fifty percentage seating before, all the tickets were sold out and the organizers are now planning to open up the available slots starting next week.

It’s a good sign for the tournament after the cancellation last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Nick Kyrgios will enter the event as the defending champion.
The Australian had one of his best weeks on tour in the 2019 edition where he defeated the likes of Stefanos Tsitsipas and Daniil Medvedev to clinch the title.
