From Grand Slams to the Masters 1000 events, the Serbian tennis player, with his remarkable on-court prowess, has added every possible title to his enviable trophy haul. In a recent episode of the AO Show, Samantha Smith spoke about the American tennis legend’s views on how players have to face a lot of challenges in the twilight of their tennis journeys. Smith stated, “I always think of the words of Martina Navratilova and she said when you become when you’re an older player and Novak is in it that zone now, you have more poor days, and they can come out of nowhere and there isn’t a reason behind them.”

While suggesting how the ‘Djoker’ can experience lackluster performances during the twilight of his competitive journey, the former tennis pro said, And I always think it’s worth keeping those words and you never know when that can happen in a slam.” As she issued a bold prediction about the Serb, Smith also claimed that the young generation could now be a major threat to Djokovic.

In the same podcast show, the former British tennis player asserted that the young generation of players will have to gang up on Djokovic in order to dethrone him. Smith said, And also, I think it will be sort of cumulative that the next generation or other players will have to gang up on him. You know, he might have a second round where he’s taken to five, and then someone pushes him in the third or fourth round physically when he’s taken to five.”

I think that that is a very possible scenario.”
