European players team up to face off against players from around the world. This year’s Laver Cup will be no different. It is already being hyped up by the Australian player Nick Kyrgios.
Kyrgios was a part of ‘Team World’ in the last year’s Laver Cup, which was also the farewell tournament for the Swiss Maestro Roger Federer. However, the player from Down Under didn’t play due to an injury.

After a few months of absence, Kyrgios has started training again. The Australian player had an injury prior to the Australian Open, which forced him to pull out of his home Grand Slam event. He ended up needing to get a knee surgery, which meant that he couldn’t play until he recovered properly. However, the Australian star is now on the road to recovery and is hyping up his return, especially to the Laver cup later this year.
He shared a video on his Instagram story which showed him heaving after an intense workout session. The former world number 11 replied to a question from one of his Instagram followers who asked “Vancouver brother let’s go“. He replied “Stay Tuned“, building mystery around his Laver Cup participation.

His fans are excited at the prospect of his participation as he withdrew from the tournament last year.
Will Federer compete in the Laver Cup?
This year fans saw the face of tennis change, as two legends of the sport, Serena Williams and Roger Federer, retired from the professional circuit. However, some interesting news may be in for tennis fans as there is a possibility of Roger Federer returning to the Laver Cup later this year. The Mighty Federer played his farewell match in the Laver Cup last year alongside long-time rival Rafael Nadal.

Moreover, the rumors of his return intensified after Federer tweeted that he was looking forward to seeing all the players in the Laver Cup. He did not confirm whether he will play in the tournament but fans have their fingers crossed. Additionally, Kyrgios even had a hand in teasing Federer’s return as he asked him about playing an exhibition match in Switzerland on his Instagram. If Federer does play, it will for sure be the most watched tennis match in history.
