Roger Federer doesn’t want to revisit his retirement day

Recently, the 20-time Grand Slam champion appeared in an interview with GQ. During the conversation, he opened up about the current project with Amazon about the final days of his playing career. Federer said, “I’m really relieved, if that makes any sense. I mean, the last few years have been tough with my knee.”

Further, he went on to add, “You could feel the end coming closer. So when it’s all said and done and you’re over the line and you’re retired officially, you take a deep breath and you’re like, ‘Wow, okay, that was good.'” But at the same time, Federer shared that whenever someone gives him a reminder of the night in the form of a video, his only feelings are, “Oh, my God, do I really have to see that again?”

Despite his retirement, his fans have always been hoping for the Swiss maestro’s return to the sport. Earlier this year, Federer opened up about his potential return to the sport.

Will Federer make a comeback?

Although Federer bid adieu to the sport in 2022, he was seen attending some tournaments last year, albeit as a spectator. This circulated rumors about his potential return to tennis in some form.

Federer mentioned, “I wanted to see how I felt to be as a quidam at a tennis competition. I felt very good. I like this sport and I don’t want to go away from it.”
