The fallen tennis legend Boris Becker is all set to go back home to Germany after serving eight months of his two-and-a-half-year sentence. After he qualified for prison-serving reduction time, the player will leave next week to be at home before Christmas. Becker is serving prison time after the court found him guilty of tax evasion.

The German tennis legend won seven Grand Slam titles. Since he was a young player, his resilience and tenacity on the court shone. Even after retiring, Boris Becker worked with one of the most celebrated tennis players of all time, Novak Djokovic. Becker served eight months and after that, he qualified for a program where the sentence can be reduced if the prisoner agrees to go back to their country. The same happened with Becker, too.
Despite living in the UK for most of his life, he will have to go back to his native country, Germany. Nonetheless, it is good news for the player.

During consideration time for this shortened sentence matter, his spokesperson released a statement. He said, “I’m sure it will mean a lot to him and his family to be reunited for Christmas.” There are some conditions attached to this issue. One is that he cannot return to the UK for the full term of his sentence.
