As the tennis season officially got over for the likes of American players such as Reilly Opelka, Taylor Fritz, etc., with team USA bowing out of the Davis Cup Finals in the round-robin stage, the players got an opportunity to ease off the pressure and have enjoy the off season.

Recently, Opelka shared few pictures of the Art Basel fair that started in Miami on Thursday, December 2nd. Opelka was accompanied by few tennis stars with the likes of Venus Williams and Taylor Fritz attending the event.

The American took to Instagram and wrote, “Kicking off Basel week proper!”.

Initially started off as an art exhibition event, Art Basel grew its wings to become a week long display of exhibits along with series of underground music events. Notably, Opelka was also joined by popular song-writer and composer, Kygo.

Venus Williams also commented to Opelka’s post with a heart emoji. The American was also present at the premiere of ‘King Richard’ alongside Frances Tiafoe.

Opelka had a breakthrough season this year on the ATP tour

After a shaky start to the ATP tour this year, Opelka found his groove at the Madrid Masters, where he defeated the likes of Aslan Karatsev, Lorenzo Mussetti, and others to reach the semi-finals. In one of the biggest matches of his life, Opelka faced Rafael Nadal in the last four but failed to go past the Spaniard.

Opelka went on to reach the doubles finals at the Queen’s Club Championships alongside John Peers. The duo lost to the in-form Frenchmen Nicolas Mahut and Pierre-Hughes Herbert.

During the North American hard-court season, Opelka stunned the likes of Tsitsipas, Dimitrov, and Bautista Agut to reach the finals of the Canadian Open. Russian star Daniil Medvedev stormed past the American to clinch the title.

This year has been a break-through season for Reilly Opelka as he proved that he can play against top-tier players and make them run for their money. Fans can see him back at the tennis summer in Australia in January next year.
