After delivering some stellar performances on the court, some of the ATP superstars have also bagged a whopping amount in prize money. But now that the season has been concluded, an intriguing stat about prize money earned by men’s players has recently surfaced online.

Over the past few seasons, the ATP players have bagged some astounding prize purses owing to their phenomenal achievements on the tour. However, this season, a record-breaking number of players have breached the whopping millionaire mark in a historical calendar for men’s tennis.

The ATP players pulled off a prize purse record this season

Prior to the commencement of the Next Gen Finals, 70 ATP players will have bagged more than $1 million in prize money in 2023. The intriguing stat was previously brought to light on Twitter by a tennis fan who said, “With Next Gen Finals still to be played, at least 70 ATP players will have earned $1M+ in prize money in 2023. (58 players in 2022.)”

Now that the season has been concluded, the fan once again disclosed the final figures regarding the number of ATP players to earn $100K+/200K+/300K+/500K+/1M. The user tweeted, “Number of ATP players to earn $100K+/200K+/300K+/500K+/1M in prize money in 2023 and in previous seasons.”

A total of 70 ATP players earned more than $1 million in prize money in 2023, which is more than the past few seasons (2019 and 2022), 54 and 58, respectively. Even the ‘$500K’ mark has been crossed by a record-breaking 137 players.

Meanwhile, a total of 190 and 229 ATP players have earned more than $300K and $200K, respectively. An astounding 333 male tennis players have further bagged more than $100,000 in prize money this season. Given the whopping prize purse earned by the ATP players, there is no denying that it was a historical calendar for men’s tennis.
