Meanwhile, Djokovic did not have a great season in 2022 before the Wimbledon Championships. This year, he won his 21st Grand Slam title at Wimbledon, as Nadal increased his tally to 22 after triumphing in Melbourne and Paris. Although they have been playing each other since 2006, their most epic match came at the Australian Open final in 2012. After 5 hours and 53 minutes, Djokovic beat his rival Nadal 5-7 6-4 6-2 6-7(5) 7-5; it was the longest final in Grand Slam history. After the match, both players didn’t have the energy to stand, as the organizers brought chairs for them during the trophy presentation.

Currently, Nadal is all set to compete at the US Open after a minor injury setback. As for Djokovic, he is still unable to enter the US due to his non-vaccinated status. It means the Spaniard has a better chance of winning the US Open title and go ahead in the all-time Grand Slam race.
