Amid this, the brother of American tennis legend John McEnroe, Patrick McEnroe, has shared glimpses of his latest adventure on that land.

Brother of John McEnroe picks up controversy with his actions

Patrick’s brother, John, has a wide history of controversies. He was one of the most controversial players during his playing days and his matches were very eventful. On this occasion, the two brothers combined for an event on the controversial land of Tanzania.

Sharing a glimpse of their outing, Patrick took to his official Twitter handle and shared pictures from that event. Additionally, he wrote, “Tennis and some music in the Serengeti….EPIC A truly incredible experience!!! Hakuna matata… Asante…to the incredible people of Tanzania.”

It is an eight-day tennis-themed event in Tanzania. The two brothers are going head-to-head in this adventure. Many activists have raised their objections to this event that will promote the disputed land.

John McEnroe has never shied away from political issues. He once met Nelson Mandela after refusing to play in South Africa.

McEnroe’s fanboy moment

During the apartheid controversy, McEnroe decided to not play in South Africa. McEnroe felt that it was his proudest decision and while the other players continued playing there, McEnroe opted out. Subsequently, he met Nelson Mandela after apartheid ended.

Narrating his experience meeting Mandela, McEnroe said, “And he was the most beautiful man I ever met”, says McEnroe. “Just his hand, it felt like I was shaking hands with an angel! There was this feeling that I can’t explain.”

McEnroe has always stood by his social and political values. Thus, it is no surprise that he and his brother went ahead with the match in Tanzania.
