In a recent interview, US Open player relations director Eric Buterac talked about the different aspects of tennis players. On being asked about the most pleasant player to work with, Butorac shared a backend perspective about Rafael Nadal, which is quite similar to that of his behavior on the courts.

“Honestly, everyone is really good. Rafa will often do things like shake the hands of all of the folks working at the practice desk on the way out. Little things like that go so far with staff,” Butorac expressed, highlighting the significance of Nadal’s simplicity and genuine kindness.

Nadal’s humility has always attracted co-players, fans, media, and immense opportunities towards him. While his actions have a significant mark on the hearts of the US Open staff, it explains how the Spaniard is consistent with his kind behavior, both on and off the court.

Nadal’s consistency with kindness

This isn’t the first time when the fans got to know about the kindness that Rafael Nadal possesses. While the tennis star has dropped countless examples of the same, his act of showing concern after accidentally hitting a ball girl during his match at the Australian Open 2020.

As Nadal defended a shot against his second-round opponent Federico Delbonis, the ball somehow found its way to the face of a ball girl. Showcasing his kind nature towards her, the Spaniard quickly rushed towards her, asking if she was okay along with apologizing with a kiss on her cheek.

While everybody witnessed the act of kindness by the tennis legend, he opened up about it after his match. “She’s a super brave girl. For her, probably it was not a good moment,” Nadai said. While this was just another incident when the tennis star proved his humility, the whole tennis world has had a deep respect for his kind behavior towards all of his surrounding entities.
