Rafael Nadal, the Spanish tennis player recently reminded his fans of an exciting match of his life. The Spaniard, has amassed a massive 22 Grand Slams, including his record breaking feat, 14 Roland Garros titles. However, one of his most memorable Grand Slam wins came doesn’t feature the clay court battles, but a grass court, against his arch-rival back in 2008.

The two tennis legends, at the zenith of their careers, were engaged in a five-set match thriller; lasted over four hours. After the marathon match, Nadal emerged as the victorious; Earning him his first Wimbledon title and second overall Grand Slam title.

Fans react wildly to the latest recollection by Rafael Nadal in an interview

It has been 15 years since the two titans met for the third in a trilogy of finals; served up what fans described as the best tennis match they had ever seen in their life. Recently Eurosport tweeted an interview, asking Nadal about his favorite Grand Slam win was. The Spaniard said,” I think maybe Wimbledon 2008 wins against Roger. It had a huge improvement in my career..” Nadal’s win in the 2008 Wimbledon is a testament to his incredible talent, skill, and relentless determination to be the best.

Nadal fans were ecstatic after the Spaniard shared a recollection of one of his most memorable moments. The interview gave fans a glimpse into the mind of the King of Clay.

Rafa won his first Wimbledon championships title in an exciting, dramatic, and tightly match, in 2008. He defeated his arch rival with a terrific score of 6-4 6-4 6-7 (5) 6-7 (8) 9-7 for a hard earned win. The Swiss Maestro and the Spaniard didn’t give even an inch to each other in the fierce battle for the title. Moreover, the victory made up for Nadal’s two straight losses to Federer in the Wimbledon finals of 2006 and 2007.
