The Roland Garros 2024 title is back with Spain. And it seems Rafael Nadal was waiting for the win. It was an epic finale between Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev. Despite starting strong, Zverev didn’t let Alcaraz breeze through the match. It was a very narrow battle till the middle of 5th set. It was the last 3 points that changed the flow of the game with the young Spanish sensation taking the lead. And after losing the tiebreak in the 5th set, the German gave up.

Consequently, Alcaraz not only won it but also created history. The Spaniard is the youngest tennis player at 21 years of age, to win a Grand Slam on all three 3 surfaces- hard, grass, and now clay. And Nadal was one of the first tennis stars to congratulate Carlos on his massive success!

Alcaraz smashed the doubts about his form at the right moment during his match with Jannie Sinner. And Zverev bore the burnt of his explosive form! As the youngster lifted his French Open trophy, his idol and fellow compatriot posted his congratulations on X. Rafa tweeted, “Congratulations @carlosalcaraz for this immense victory!!!! Big!!!! Very happy for your successes!!! 🇪🇸 #Vamos.”

Indeed a special day for Carlitos and the whole of Spain. It seems that the transition has happened, Rafa has passed the baton to keep the Spanish glory alive, as he looks towards the dusk of his professional career.

It seems all the energy of the crowd was with the youngster as the whole of Paris stood to congratulate the Spaniard for his victory. However, no one could be happier than the parents of the newly crowned French Open Champion.

A moment after dealing a crushing blow to the German ace, Alcaraz hurried up the steps to celebrate his win with the team and his parents. The moment he stepped into his box the player was in the arms of his parents. And their happiness knew no bounds as they hugged the champion and shed tears of happiness. The moment was shared by the official X handle of the French Open, captioned, “All the feels.”

Words certainly felt short in expressing this mammoth feat that the 21-year-old  produced on the clay court of Paris. With this Alcaraz has shot his Grand Slam tally to 3, and only the Australian Open has remained elusive from his grasp. However, it won’t be long before the three-time Grand Slam champion completes the whole set!
