Rafael Nadal announces the launch of his restaurant chain in Beverly Hills with a perplexing tweet

Nadal, who wasn’t a frequent user of social media, surprised his fans yesterday when he posted a cryptic tweet that goes with the quote, “Something Grand is about to happen in California”.

The clip also had the theme song of the popular American sit-com The OC, running in the background. Fans speculated for a while that Nadal might just be coming to Indian Wells Masters, which starts next month.

However, after seeing the Spaniard in crutches, it’s evident that it will take a few more months for Nadal to be back at his physical best on a tennis court.

After a while, the speculations were put to end when it was realized that one of Spain’s popular restaurant chains Tatel, will soon be opening up in Beverly Hills on the 21st of this month.

For those who wonder what’s the connection between Tatel and Nadal, the 20-time grand slam champion is one of the partners of the initial partners of the restaurant alongside Manuel Campos Guallar and Abel Matutes Prats.

Not just Rafael Nadal, Tatel also has some high-profile investors in Cristiano Ronaldo and Los Angeles Lakers player, Pau Gasol.

Nadal seems to be on right path to recovery after foot treatment in Barcelona

After losing to Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals of the French Open this year, Nadal decided to pull out of Wimbledon Championships to rest after a busy clay-court swing.

As he made a comeback to US hard-court series with a debut at the Citi Open, it was expected that Nadal would go the distance and capture his first-ever title in Washington.

But, Nadal had on-going issues with his foot as he couldn’t find top form despite making a solid start by defeating Jack Sock in three sets. Lloyd Harris defeated the Spaniard in a tight, three-set encounter.
