In 2009, Pericoli asked Djokovic to imitate Rafael Nadal in Rome, right in front of the Spanish tennis maestro. Djokovic jovially recalled, “I made Rafa’s imitation because he had won; if I had won, I would never have done it. I would have thought: if I imitate him after I beat him, Rafa kills me…”
