The Australian Open is on the brink of arrival and tennis fans could not seem to control their excitement. However, their excitement just doubled recently after Rafael Nadal announced his comeback into the sport. After being out of the court for almost a year, the Spanish legend will be making his much-awaited return to the game and will be looking to conquer the courts of Australia as he did back in 2022. However, before announcing his return officially, he suggested that this year could be his last one on the professional circuit.

But, in a recent revelation, Rafael Nadal seems to suggest that his retirement by the end of the year will solely depend on how well his body performs this year. This news gave his fans a ray of hope as they joined in and hoped he would continue long enough.

A recent video, posted on Nadal’s Twitter account was shared on Reddit, where he talked about how his retirement plans would depend on how his body performs at the end of the season. He suggested that it would not be fair to say anything right now as what if he enjoys playing tennis yet again after returning to the professional circuit?

This news filled his fans with joy as they could not seem to control their excitement. One fan came ahead and asked God to allow Rafa 1-2 years more as the tennis world has clearly missed him a lot. “Plz tennis gods, give us 1-2 more years of Rafa on his top level!! Tennis is definitely missing him,” wrote the fan.

Another fan came in and suggested his love for the attitude that Rafael Nadal has. Even at this age, the Spanish legend does not want to quit and wants to play until his body gives up on him. “Absolutely LOVE his attitude. What a champion,” wrote the fan.

While many expect the Spanish star to be the champ he once was, he quickly came ahead and suggested that even he doesn’t know what to expect from him. The Spanish maestro suggested that he did not know what to expect and revealed that he did not even care about that at the moment.

However, Nadal assured to be competitive on the court and give his best at whatever tournament he plays and enjoy his time on the court. “I don’t know at what level, I don’t know what to expect, I have no idea, but I don’t care right now,” Nadal said in the video. “I’m just happy to be back and with great excitement to make the effort that is necessary to have fun and I believe that I will be competitive.”

While Rafael Nadal’s retirement is still a questionable thing, the fans will be eagerly waiting for the Spanish maestro to continue for a longer period and join the elite list once again with major grand slam success to his name.
