Rafael Nadal has had a blistering start to the 2022 season. The 35-year-old made a strong comeback this season after suffering from injuries last season. He won the Melbourne Summer Set title on his return. Moreover, he created history at the Australian Open by defeating Russia’s Daniil Medvedev in the summit clash. The Spaniard became the first man to lift 21 Grand Slam singles titles.
His performance left the entire world in awe as congratulatory messages poured in for the Spaniard. One of the messages came from Senegal and Liverpool forward, Sadio Mane.

Recently, Senegal won their first Africa Cup of Nations title in Cameroon. They defeated Egypt in a dramatic penalty shootout 4-2 after the game ended 0-0 in extra-time. After the game, Rafael Nadal had a message for their star player after their victory.

Rafael Nadal congratulates Sadio Mane after Senegal lift AFCON title
Star Liverpool F.C. forward Sadio Mane was the architect of Senegal’s triumph at the Africa Cup of Nations. Moreover, he hit the winning penalty against Egypt to give Senegal their first AFCON title.
Nadal praised his efforts and said, “I want to congratulate you. Amazing that you achieved the African Cup for the first time. Very happy for you. I wish you all the very best. Enjoy this incredible achievement. And I hope one day we will meet. See you soon.”

The victory was a special for their coach, Aliou Cisse, who had missed an opportunity to win Senegal their first AFCON in 2002. Now, 20 years later, he led them to the trophy as manager.
Earlier, the Senegal forward had congratulated Nadal after his victory Down Under. Mane said that he had watched the match and Nadal was unbelievable in the final.
