Andy Murray has displayed some of his best tennis in the majors this year. While he was doing his best, his sudden withdrawal from this year’s warm-up tournaments in Toronto and Cincinnati raised concerns about whether he would play the US Open or not. And now, the British player has finally shared an update regarding returning for the last shot at Grand Slam glory this year.
After Wimbledon, things went a south for the three-time Grand Slam champion. He faced a little distress in the form of an abdominal injury. However, now that the tournament is approaching, he has finally addressed the concerns regarding his presence on the tour.

He said, “The radiologist from back home looked at my scans and checked them, I had a small tear, which is healing and the last five or six days of practice have been really good, I’ve not had any issues serving. It’s just obviously been a bit [difficult], you don’t just take a week off from serving and then go full into it, you need to build up a little bit so it’s not been perfect in that sense, but my ab has been okay.”
However, the US Open has always been a little scary for him. He has faced withdrawal from the tournament multiple times because of struggles on the court. However, now that he has decided to get back and is quite confident about his recovery, the former world number one is definitely ready to get back.
Returning to court is always great news, but there are other concerns. Earlier this month, Murray also talked about retirement while getting real about his uncertain tennis future.

Although he has a vague retirement plan in mind, he is still trying to figure things out about his tennis future. But now that he is confident about the US Open, it will be great to see him on the court.
