Novak Djokovic’s longevity has never been in question. The 36-year-old Serb showed that he is still going strong as he etched his place in history with an unprecedented 24th men’s singles Grand Slam title. But what is it that makes Djokovic the real G.O.A.T.? Speaking about the same, American tennis legend John McEnroe highlighted the Serbian’s mindset while putting an end to the ‘best of all time‘ debate.

The 64-year-old Hall of Famer has served as a commentator and observed each member of the Big Three at close quarters for a prolonged period. This has allowed him to pick insights from the trio and he chimed in on something that differentiated Novak Djokovic from the rest, including Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, driving him to perform at his level best.

John McEnroe praised Novak Djokovic, emphasizing the Serbian superstar’s resilience on the court. He left a powerful message for fellow players, cautioning them about the formidable challenge of facing the top-ranked ATP player.

While ending the first half of the interview, McEnroe’s words showed that trying to one-up Novak Djokovic in any aspect would see the ‘Serbinator’ find another level.

“It’s not easy to get the better of Novak, if you ever do, the Djoker always finds a way to punch back. That’s why he is the most resilient player. Novak isn’t just the best, he’s the best of all time,” said John McEnroe.

John McEnroe declared Novak Djokovic not only the best of his generation but as the greatest player in tennis history. This glowing endorsement cements Djokovic’s status as a tennis legend revered not just for his extraordinary skills but also for his unwavering determination and indomitable spirit on the court. The 2023 US Open final is an example of McEnroe’s words as Djokovic did not let Daniil Medvedev even get a sniff of pulling off a repeat of the 2021 US Open final.

Daniil Medvedev had nothing but words of admiration for the ‘Serbinator’. In the interview, the 27-year-old cheekily asked Novak Djokovic to slow down, as he looked unstoppable at the moment. He also mentioned that when he reflects on his career, 20 titles prompt him to label it as good. However, looking at Djokovic surpassing his total haul with just Grand Slams is simply astonishing.

The likes of John McEnroe and Daniil Medvedev can only salute the resilience and hard work that the Serbian puts in. With his recent success, he has undeniably become one of the best in the business.
