American star Maxime Cressy has been having a dream run at the Australian Open 2022. After winning his 3rd round match against Australia’s Christopher O’Connell, Cressy is currently up against 2nd seed Medvedev in the 4th round.
Recently, Maxime Cressy claimed that he has more routines than Rafael Nadal. Rafa is famous for being extremely particular about his routines, pre-match and during matches, and anything that isn’t perfectly aligned to them, irks the Spanish great immensely.

The World No. 70 talked about the way he tries to gain focus and find his zone where he is at peace. The video was posted by the Australian Open on their official Twitter handle.
Maxime Cressy details his daily routine, likens himself to Rafael Nadal
Cressy started by saying, “I have many routines that I wouldn’t be able to tell you all of the routines I’m doing. I probably have more routines than Rafa (Nadal).”
He then elaborated on one of his routines where he writes the same word, ‘Instil Doubt’, every morning three times. The American says, “I write the same word every morning. ‘Instil Doubt,’ three times.. surrounded with a box, with a pen”.
Giving the reason behind it, he added, “It enables me to meditate and focus on it and find a zone. An incredible state, where I’m completely at peace.”

The 24-year-old says that this routine has been really working for him and his results truly prove that as well. Cressy is known for his serve-and-volley style, which is troubling some of the biggest players in the world right now.

Maxime Cressy has started off his Australian Open 2022 campaign on a stunning note. Cressy, who lost in the 2nd round of last year’s Australian Open, is competing in the 4th round at Melbourne Park this year.

Cressy faced his fellow American, John Isner, in the first round. Though Cressy won the first two sets, Isner made a comeback in the 3rd set, winning 3rd and 4th set. However, Maxime raised his game and managed to take the 5th set, going on to finally win the match.

Though the next two rounds also tested Maxime’s skills, the American managed to up his game and win both matches in four sets.

The American, who turned pro in 2019, is now facing world number 2 Daniil Medvedev in the fourth round, to book a place in the last 8.
