‘Popping Into Our Stores Unannounced’ – Designer Details Heart-Warming Roger Federer Story as They Step Into a Crazy Venture

Swiss tennis star Roger Federer has been teasing his return to the tennis court for a while. Recently, he shared a video on his social media, where he was on the tennis court with famous American fashion designer Ronnie Fieg.

Notably, this was a commercial video for Federer’s new tennis shoes by the manufacturer On. Interestingly, Fieg had a personal touch in designing these shoes, as he named them (RF)², as he is also known as RF, same as the Swiss Maestro. Recently, he shared a touching story on his social media about how he met his hero and designed the shoes for him.

Earlier, Federer shared the commercial on his Instagram Story, and in the next story, he posted a photo with Ronnie Fieg. You can see the commercial below.

Later, the American designer posted several photos on his Instagram account and in the caption, he shared a story where he said, “I met Roger for the first time at an event in New York in 2017… I remember most is how welcoming and approachable he was. Over the next few years I would hear about him popping into our stores unannounced and staying up on what we were working on.“

Later, he talked about Federer visiting the On store to check out the latest shoe designs. Fieg further revealed that he became really interested in the design of the new Roger Pro shoes. As a result, he wanted his fashion brand, Kith, to become the retailer for these shoes.

“I spoke with Roger and the On team about wanting this to be very personal. With us both being “RF” I wanted each pair to have a personal touch… There are 2 RF’s, so we created a two-shoe double box set. One style is designed for performance and the other for lifestyle,” Fieg further said.

Then, he spoke about flying to Switzerland to shoot a video with Federer for Kith and the partnership will finally launch on 29th August.

Federer will return at the Laver Cup 2022

Recently, Federer shared a reel on his Instagram, where he was practicing on the tennis court. This made plenty of tennis fans happy, as the Swiss Maestro in on the verge of making his comeback.

In September, he will play at the Laver Cup, representing Team Europe. Alongside Federer, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, and Rafael Nadal will also join him in Team Europe.
