Both the players withdrew the US Open 2021 because of ailments. Recently at Tennis Channel, several reporters praised Federer and Nadal for guiding the new stars on the ATP tour.
As both the players are on the verge of retirement, they are helping the rising players on the tour. Just recently, Rafael Nadal was seen at his academy training with the 19-year-old, Carlos Alcaraz. Roger Federer, on the other hand, supported Belinda Bencic throughout her audacious run at Tokyo Olympics 2020.

Lately, Tennis Channel discussed the greatness of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. Both the players are currently recovering from their injuries and hoping to be back on the tour. Moreover, both legends have been extensively helping the next generation on the tour.
One reporter said, “We are all of course waiting to see when we will get Nadal and Federer back on the match. But with the time off they have had, we’ve gotten to see a little bit of a different side of Nadal and Federer.”
He further continued, “We saw Federer at a wedding the other day. We’ve seen Nadal spending more time at his academy working with young players like Carlos Alcaraz. So, we are getting to see some other sides of these guys.”

‘Fedal’ on the verge of their retirement
20-time Grand Slam champions, Federer and Nadal have been facing some injury issues for a couple of years. However, they both are pretty optimistic regarding their participation in the 2022 season. Considering their age, they are almost on the verge of returning from professional tennis.

A journalist at Tennis Channel said, “Yeah, it’s great to see. I mean we all know that they are towards the end of their career transitioning to the next phase. So it’s so lovely to see players giving back. And they both are doing so much in tennis.”
Another interviewer confessed, “It is great to see those great careers end in the same fashion they deserve. Because if that is not easy but passing through, passing on to the next generation, I think it’s the best way to go.”
