Further, a major and exciting event surrounding the sport is set to take place tomorrow. The Pickleball Slam 2 will feature the likes of John McEnroe and Andre Agassi.

With great anticipation around the event, sports brands like Nike are using every opportunity to showcase their new collection. Let’s find out if the brand is launching a new version of McEnroe’s ‘Mac’ Attack.

But how’s John McEnroe related to the ‘Mac’ Attack?

‘The ‘Mac’ attack collection of Nike is a blast from the past. It is inspired by McEnroe’s signature shoes in a single white, grey, and black colorway back in 1984. Ever since the hype surrounding Pickleball Slam 2 grew, it was widely rumored that Nike would launch the new version somewhere around the beginning of the tournament.

The new Mac Attack is white-based and aligned with Wimbledon’s all-white dress code. Further, the shoe also represents the colors of the tournament’s logo. Colors like purple, green, and white appear profoundly on the collar, heel, and swooshes.

Nike hasn’t revealed the official date of the release yet. But according to several rumors, it will be around May later this year. The price of this collection is said to be around $130.

Meanwhile, Agassi is all set to take on McEnroe at the Pickleball Slam 2. Recently, he revealed his motivation behind facing a fellow tennis legend.

What did Agassi say about McEnroe?

Agassi will pair up with his wife, Steffi Graf and the two will face the challenge of McEnroe and Maria Sharapova. It would be an exciting battle and Agassi is all pumped up ahead of the clash.

He said, “I can’t think anything better than including my wife and John’s always fun to beat up on so he had a say on who he wanted his partner to be. We just kind of figured it out.”
