When the former world number one was affiliated with Nike, the company produced apparel and equipment bearing the tennis star’s ‘RF’ emblem, which had a significant influence and was a huge success. Additionally, the brand has long considered RF to be one of its most iconic works.

In the book, ‘The Roger Federer Effect,’ former Nike tennis director Mike Nakajima discussed the 44-year-old tennis star’s involvement in producing the epic RF collection with her husband. However, the former Nike head acknowledged Mirka’s role in the design and how she filled in for Federer’s absence and guided the Nike team in developing the entire RF collection. Nakajima also discussed how his team has always respected the tennis star’s wife’s opinion as much as the tennis star’s.
Nakajima said, “That’s something Mirka was very involved with. When Roger wasn’t available, Mirka was. She told us, ‘This is what Roger likes,’ and we went by that. And we wanted to make sure that the tennis product we made, especially for Roger, became wearable as fashion. A nice polo with a little RF logo; people just went crazy over that.”
However, even after coming up with such an amazing collection with Nike, the tennis legend called off his long professional relationship with Nike in 2018 to join a Japanese athletic brand.
