Christopher Eubanks couldn’t help but sit on the fence when asked to choose between the two famous rappers in Atlanta. The 27-year-old Atlanta-born tennis player has showcased his love for music, especially rapping, several times in the past. Recently Eubanks came on ‘Black Spin Global: The Podcast’ and here’s what he revealed about his picks from the world of rappers.

Earlier this year, Christopher Eubanks was seen attending a Drake concert in Washington DC just two days after playing under the lights in the QFs of the Atlanta Open. So when asked about his pick between Drake and Kanye. The answer was quite obvious. But when the Atlantan was asked to pick between Young Thug and Gunna, here’s what he said.

Young Thug is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter who is known for his eccentric vocal style and fashion. In 2017, he guest performed on the worldwide hit ‘Havana’ which is sung by Camila Cabello. It became his first number 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 and the following year he won the Grammy Award for Song of the Year for his contribution to ‘This is America’ by Childish Gambino.

Thug is quite an influential figure in modern hip-hop and trap music. He is a pioneer of the mumble rap micro-genre. Whereas, Gunna rose to fame with the mixtape Drip Season 3 in 2018 and later on went on to achieve Diamond Certification by RIAA for ‘Drip Too Hard’.

So, it’s really a tough pick for the Atlanta native, and here’s what Christopher Eubanks said when asked to pick between the two. “Man, that’s tough. If I say, like more, I mean the thing is, Thug is like, he’s like gold in Atlanta, like if I say Gunna, people gonna kill me. So, I just say Thug just to keep stay safe walking around. Because uh, you know, saying anything bad about Thug in Atlanta is problems.”

Just like his confusion in picking between the two rappers, a few months back Christopher Eubanks was in two minds about whether to pick tennis or take the role of an analyst for broadcasting networks. But now, he’s well settled in the court and had a breakout season this year. Let’s catch up more about the 2 times ACC Player of the Year.
