Daniil Medvedev had an outburst on the court while playing his semifinal match against Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas. Tsitsipas’s coach and father seemed to be shouting and coaching his son after every point. This flustered Medvedev, who was a break down in the second set. Hence, he had a go at the umpire.

The Russian lost the set, but recovered to win the match 7-6 (5), 4-6, 6-4, 6-1.

Later, Alexis Ohanian tweeted, “A penalty… media outrage… satirical cartoons… those are all coming, right? No, of course, they’re not. (I have no problem w players yelling at umpires — but let them *all* do it — not just the white guys).”

He said, “Tennis, we don’t fight with the fists, but tennis is a fight. It’s a one v one against another player. So I’m actually really respectful to players who almost never show their emotions because it’s tough. I can get really emotional… I do regret it, but in the heat of the moment, I just lost it.”
