Holger Rune recently experienced a positive impact from his week-long training with legendary tennis champion Boris Becker. Rune, in a recent interview, talked about the impact that Boris Becker brought in with his understanding of the game and his leadership skills.
Becker’s interest in tennis and occasional words of wisdom to Rune during his formative years strengthened their bond. Rune points out that Becker has been there to support him whenever needed. Becker possesses the ability to connect with Rune’s emotions, as he did the same during his years as a professional player.
“I have known Boris for a long time. He follows tennis a lot & he has written to me a few times. When was a little younger, he gave me some tips & tricks. There he showed that he supports me. You can feel it. It’s a really a big difference. He can feel what I’m feeling. He doesn’t just say what he thinks I’m feeling. He can feel it because he’s been in those situations himself. So it’s a different sensation & feeling,” said Holger Rune in the interview.

Rune’s mother reflects on Boris Becker coaching her son
While the rumors of a possible union between the two could come to light, Rune’s mother revealed the real reason why the two practised together in Monaco. In a recent interview, she said that Holger’s head coach Lars was in Denmark because of which Boris Becker stepped in to give Rune some tennis lessons.
“He [Becker] helped Holger this week because Lars [Holger’s coach] was in Denmark”, said Rune’s mother in the interview. However, Boris joining his coaching staff could be on the cards or he could become a consultant of the Danish player.

Thus, Holger Rune, still early in his career parted his ways with Patrick Mouratoglou after the US Open and is now on the verge of joining hands with Boris Becker.
