Tennis can sometimes be cruel to even the best players on the tour. While wins and losses are a part of the game, sometimes unexpected losses can take a heavy toll on the player. The same thing happened with Andrey Rublev who suffered an unexpected loss at the Cincinnati Masters. After his loss, the player from Russia could not control his emotions as he was seen crying. However, Australian player Nick Kyrgios did not hold back as he took a dig at the Russian player following his loss.

Nick is currently out of the ATP tour. The Australian player suffered an injury prior to Wimbledon which forced him to pull out of the tournament. However, the Australian player talked about Rublev’s raw emotions and shared his views following the Russian’s loss.

In a gripping showdown at the Cincinnati Open, Andrey Rublev faced an unexpected defeat against Emil Ruusuvuori in a riveting three-set match that had tennis enthusiasts on the edge of their seats. The battle between the two players showcased an unyielding spirit as they relentlessly pushed each other to the limits.

However, it was Rublev who ultimately fell short, his emotions laid bare in the face of defeat. The poignant moment when tears welled up in Rublev’s eyes during a changeover was caught on camera, prompting The Tennis Letter to share the video on Twitter. Their caption, emphasizing Rublev’s raw and unfiltered emotional response, struck a chord with fans worldwide.

However, not everyone perceived Rublev’s emotional outpouring in the same light. In a characteristic move, Nick Kyrgios injected a note of sarcasm into the conversation, suggesting that what some label as ‘raw’ and ’emotional’ could also be seen from a different angle.

Funny for some it’s ‘raw’ & ‘showing emotions’ 😂😂😂”- wrote Kyrgios responding to the tweet.

Kyrgios’ comment implied that vulnerability on the court might be subjected to diverse interpretations. While many praised Rublev for his openness, Kyrgios’ remark highlighted the nuanced nature of emotions in the high-stakes world of professional tennis.

However, this is not the first time that the Australian player has been the one to mock players. Recently, he went ahead to mock a survey that took place in America among young tennis players.
