Citing his losses against the 25-year-old, the Swiss legend expressed his belief in Tsitsipas’ talent and shared his warm wishes, “I have obviously lost a bunch of times against him and I think he’s a great player but I would like to see him taking it to the next level so I wish him very well.”

Dejected but composed, Federer joked, “He has a one-handed backhand, and I used to have long hair, too.” He also appreciated Tsitsipas’ game and remarked that he sees great potential in him.
