Daniil Medvedev commented on the situation during a post-match conference, even saying that he was ready to use illegal streams to get his fix. His words seem to have sent Disney into a panic, as they are now sharing livestreams with certain members.
Disney to now share streams with US Open players

Over Labor Day Weekend, channels like ESPN, ABC, and others owned by Disney went off the air for those who subscribed to Charter Communications for their cable needs. They account for 15 million television viewers and even broadcast live for many hotels. The dispute between Charter and Disney is depriving many viewers of the US Open livestreams.
Not only home viewers but many players of the US Open aren’t able to watch the ongoing matches. Daniil Medvedev was one such individual and expressed his frustration with Disney during his post-match conference after beating Alex De Minaur. He wanted to watch other matches but had no source to stream them. Therefore, he said he relied on pirated streams to keep up with the tournament.

His comments certainly sent Disney into panic mode. Now, they recently announced that they will allow access to the Walt Disney Firm application to some players who have voiced their frustration at being unable to watch the matches. Medvedev is an outspoken person, and he did not hold back when talking about using illegal streams.

For American tennis fans and for fans of American players, two quarterfinal matches were not to be missed. Taylor Fritz vs. Novak Djokovic and Frances Tiafoe vs. Ben Shelton were two matches no one wanted to miss. But being in the US, there weren’t many ways to watch them on TV. Therefore, Medvedev said that he would use illegal streams to watch these matches.

His comment made him quite relatable to over 15 million users who had to resort to such methods in order to watch the final slam of the year. Now, as Disney is allowing the stream to some players, they are likely to make some changes for the public soon.
